Frequently asked questions
What should I expect in the first session?
The first session is a time where you and your therapist will discuss the reasons for you to begin therapy and get to know one another. Individual psychotherapy sessions are 45 – 53 minutes.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we have several therapy spots available for Cigna clients.
We are also an Out-Of-Network provider which means that the client will pay the session fee up front to the practice and then we would be able to provide a SuperBill (receipt to submit to your insurance if you have out-of-network coverage) at the end of every month.
What is the cost of therapy at Hamilton Psychology?
Individual therapy sessions range from $175 - $250 depending on the clinician and the service. We offer sliding scale sessions for those in financial need.
Is Virtual teletherapy effective as effective as in peson therapy?
YES! There is much research that supports the efficacy of teletherapy as being equally as effective as in-person therapy. In addition to the efficacy, teletherapy offers some additional benefits, including more flexibility, an increased comfortability from being in your own home or the space of your choice. Teletherapy allows for persons with physical limitations or disabilities to receive the care they might not have been able to receive without the convenience of remote therapy. Virtual therapy can be seamlessly integrated into your daily routine.
What is the No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimate?
Hamilton Psychotherapy complies with the government’s No Surprises Act and can provide you with a Good Faith Estimate upon request. The purpose of this is to ensure clients who do not use insurance are aware of the cost of therapy in advance.
