    Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is your own private space to talk openly with a trained, licensed professional who is there to listen, support, and guide you.  Individual therapy allows the treatment to be customized to your personal needs. In the session with your individual therapy, you can share what’s been weighing on you, explore what’s holding you back, and discover new ways to cope and grow.

This isn’t about judgment or being told what to do. It’s a collaborative process where you set the pace. Together, we look at your experiences, patterns, and goals so you can feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.

Think of therapy as a weekly pause — a chance to check in with yourself, gain clarity, and work toward the life you want with someone in your corner.

    Group Therapy

Group therapy is a supportive space where a small group of people, guided by a trained, licensed therapist, come together to share experiences, learn from one another, and grow. While everyone’s story is unique, many people find comfort in realizing they’re not alone in what they’re facing.

In group sessions, you can talk at your own pace, listen to others, and explore new perspectives in a safe, respectful setting. The group becomes a place to practice communication, build confidence, and receive honest, caring feedback — all with professional guidance.

Think of group therapy as a community where you can connect, feel understood, and gain tools for your life, all while being supported by others who “get it.”

    Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) Therapy

Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) is a gentle, guided approach that helps you heal from difficult experiences — especially those that affect how you feel about yourself and how you relate to others. It combines the core principles of EMDR therapy with a strong focus on building safety, trust, and emotional connection.

In AF-EMDR, your individual licensed, certified therapy will work together to understand where certain patterns or intense feelings come from, often tracing them back to early relationships or moments when you didn’t feel fully supported or safe. Using specific techniques, including bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping), we help your brain reprocess these experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming or defining.

The goal isn’t just to reduce symptoms, but to strengthen your sense of self, deepen your capacity for healthy relationships, and help you feel more grounded, secure, and connected.

Think of AF-EMDR as a supportive, collaborative way to heal old wounds and create new emotional pathways that help you feel more steady and empowered in your everyday life.

Grief isn't limited to the death of a loved one—it can also arise from significant life changes, such as divorce, the loss of a job, or a major health diagnosis. This type of therapy offers guidance in navigating the emotional, mental, and physical impacts of grief while helping you find healing, resilience, and renewed purpose in the midst of it all. At Hamilton Psychotherapy, we approach your journey with care and understanding, honoring your unique experience with respect and empathy.

    • Persistent sadness or emotional numbness

    • Difficulty concentrating or completing daily tasks

    • Changes in sleep patterns or appetite

    • Withdrawal from friends and family

    • A sense of being "stuck" and unable to move forward

  • What is Caregiver Stress Therapy?
